Keeping in tune with the latest technological advancement in Indian film industry, debutant director V K Prakash will shoot his maiden venture Moonamthoral in a total digital format. Moonamthoral features Jayaram, Samvrutha and Sherin.

It is a digital film and it doesn't require expensive film reels, time-consuming lab processing or complicated storage processes. The films shot on digital format reduce costs tremendously and are screened in theatres and on personal computers directly from satellite links. The risk of piracy is also reduced considerably.

Emil and Eric Digital Limited is the technical consultant for the project. The entire film is going to be shot on a HD camera.

It may be recalled that the Tamil movie Vanam Vasapadum by cinematographer P C Sreeram was the first digital film in the country.
