Actor Lal took to facebook to post the images of the celebrations of Godfather to commemorate its release 25 years before. The celebrations happened in the sets of Fukrey directed by Siddique and having Jayasurya in the lead role. Godfather was one of the greatest hit movies in the history of Malayalam film industry. It was remade into other languages and in Hindi it was remade by Priyadarshan.

In Malayalam it had a stellar cast. The title role was handled by the late thespian N.N. Pillai, father of actor Vijayaraghavan. The other lead actors included Thilakan, Mukesh, Siddique, Innocent, Philomina, Sankarady etc. It was a thumping hit and even had houseful days in Chennai. It was written and directed by the duo Siddique-Lal. The film was produced forRs. 12 Lakhs and collected around 4.7 crores from its theatre release alone.
