A renowned school approached the police on Wednesday after some students posted undignified morphed pictures of their teachers on social media sites.
The incident has been reported from Goa's Panaji where the students clicked the pictures of the teachers during their online classes. All live recordings and recorded sessions have reportedly been cancelled for Thursday and the Zoom sessions will only resume after the students provide their apologies through written applications. A statement from the school management issued to the parents and teachers read, "A few students have shown disrespect by using social media platform like Instagram in a demeaning manner. Teachers' faces have been clicked during Zoom classes as well as from recorded sessions and morphed into unacceptable and demeaning images and uploaded on Instagram." The school management has further asked the parents to monitor their children's activities during and after the online sessions.
An investigating official reportedly mentioned, "For now, we have been intimated and will meet the school authorities tomorrow to take the details. They have written to us through our online complaints portal. We will probe the allegations." The school mentioned in their statement with the police, "This method of teaching is new for all teachers and preparations are quite tedious and strenuous for them. The effort of the management and the teachers should have been appreciated by the students and parents." They further added that the teachers were very demoralised and disheartened at this behaviour of the students.
