The most cherished studio of art director Mohan B Kere and GN Ramesh on 7.5 acres land ‘GNR Cine City and Mohan B Kere Studio is cynosure of most of the Kannada film makers.
 
The latest development on this four years old studio is setting up of Rs.1.5 crore set for Kannada film ‘Johny Johny Yes Papa’ in the production of Dhuniya Talkies of popular star Vijay first independent production.
 
It is Rainbow Colony set where 90 percent of shooting takes place. This is one of the massive sets for Johny Johny Yes Papa – there is a Ganesha temple street, Muslim colony with mosque, Christian colony with a church, several streets, a huge police station, two houses – one of heroine and the other one of lead actors Dhuniya Vijay and Rangayana Raghu. Every day nearly 200 people work here and they are inmates of the colony till the shooting is complete.

Preetham Gubbi director of the film has already shot two songs – for Hosa Padmavathi song featuring the most beautiful Rachita Ram – five sets have been changed, in another song Rangayana Raghu and Dhuniya Vijay come up in eight costumes for the song placed in night effect background.
 
It is on the land of GN Ramesh, Mohan B Kere gave a good shape and in the last four years nearly 100 plus Kannada films shooting was held at this studio. Mohan B Kere spent Rs.40 lakhs for a set in Mysuru for ‘Johny Mere Naam…Preethi Mere Kaam’, for this sequel type of cinema ‘Johny Johny Yes Papa’ he has incurred Rs.1.5 crore for two and half months and 100 people on work. The great support extended by Dhuniya Vijay is mainly responsible for setting up different locations in one spot remembers Mohan B Kere.
 
The owner of 7.5 acres land G N Ramesh a good friend of Mohan B Kere is of the opinion that the studio with huge area should be properly utilized by the Kannada cinema and TV industry. Then the revenue generated would be used for lovely sets at this spot assures Ramesh.
 
Another good attempt of GN Ramesh and Mohan B Kere at this location is 50 feet height, 100 feet and 150 feet area floor at GNR Cine City. This huge floor is not seen in AVM Studio or Abbai Naidu Studio. At this lovely floor Mohan B Kere has erected a wonderful set. Kiran Govi was shooting a song with Prashanth (Orata I Love You) as hero.
 
According to director Preetham Gubbi the set is also character in the film. For Rangayana Raghu working the whole film in one set with several outlooks is nothing but preparing for stage plays. We can keep cool and work very well for the film. It is like all unit members, technicians and artists staying together.
 
What the elders of Kannada cinema industry like Dr Parvathamma Rajakumar told that the shoot for cinema should be held in four walls and not come before the people eyes is happening again. The magic of cinema making should not go to public eyes was the call of Smt Parvathamma Rajakumar. The magic of cinema should open up only in the cinema halls.
 
That is what happening exactly for this ‘Johny Johny Yes Paapa’.
