Leading director of Kannada cinema S.Narayan who is also producer, actor, story, screenplay, dialogues and lyric writer is of the opinion (on the controversial issue of remuneration to artistes) that the medicine has to be applied where the wound is or for the person who has suffered the wound but not to the entire fraternity of artistes.

Pointing the indiscipline among the producers S.Narayan says he can name only Dr.Rajkumar camp, Rockline Venkatesh and chief minister H.D.Kumaraswamy (who is also producer of Kannada film) as disciplined ones. I am not able to get the fourth name today in my 16 years stint in cinema Narayan pointed out.

Spending money on the project is in the hands of a producer. Where he has to spend and what for, how it is going to get the result on the screen he has to be aware. Now I am shooting at the expensive palace Lalalith Mahal in Mysore for 'Thayiya Madilu'. I have invited Shivarajkumar, Jayasudha and Avinash the leading stars to play roles in my film. I know the background of my film. I know that the parents are aristocratic in this film. So I came here to shoot he compared the issue to his present production. I cannot do this cinema in a hut or a village. The need is the opulence, technical brilliance. If I don't apply it, I will be at loss explained Narayan.

S.Narayan's next venture is 'Hejje' based on Vyasaraya Ballal's novel. The producer of this period cinema is Karnataka chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy .
