The Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation today said that all cine workers belonging to the 24 crafts of the film industry have to be given a hike of 45% in wages starting Thursday (June 23). The cine workers will work for only those films whose producers comply with the call given by the Federation.

Film producers will have to give an undertaking in writing that all workers belonging to all crafts will be given a 45% hike in daily wages.

Earlier, the Federation's representatives met and deliberated over the course of action. In effect, they have announced an indefinite strike, given that producers may be hard-pressed to meet the demand with immediate effect.

Cine workers are of the opinion that there has been no cooperation and mutual support among different bodies: Telugu Film Chamber, Telugu Film Producers Council and Film Industry Employees Federation. Film workers earn anywhere between Rs 500 to Rs 1,500 per day.
