Gippy Grewal had cautioned Aamir Khan about this aspect of 'Laal Singh Chaddha'

After years of wait and anticipation, Aamir Khan's passion project 'Laal Singh Chaddha' was released few days back but it failed to make a significant mark on the box office. As of now several celebs and critics have shared their opinions on what exactly went wrong with Aamir's adaptation of 'Forrest Gump'.
Punjabi actor and singer Gippy Grewal recently shared that he had advised Aamir and team of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' to re-dub the Punjabi dialogues in order to improve the accent and dictation. However, the makers refrained from doing so and the film ended up getting criticised for having lead characters with poor Punjabi accent.
Gippy stated, "My team including Rana Ranbir (actor-writer) helped them in penning Punjabi dialogues. But once I saw the rushes of the film, I suggested they should re-dub for getting the right Punjabi. They agreed with me, but they didn’t change it. Maybe they thought that it was perfect for the character, but there has been a certain disconnect over there.”
However, despite this issue, Gippy the film and Aamir's portrayal of a Sikh man. He stated, "I liked it very much, Aamir had gone under the skin of his character. He was having the proper look of a Sikh, with a proper turban, and beard. People in Punjab and overseas liked Aamir Khan’s portrayal. As far as I saw, people were clapping, and they narrated the film beautifully.”
