After a series of cinematic outings from director Shaji Kailas, which was nothing short of catastrophes, here comes the real final nail in the  coffin in the form of `Ginger'. A movie  said to be and intended to be a comedy flick, `Ginger ` hardly has any aroma or characters of its title ending up as a muddy waste that cannot be called one movie.

The movie opens with the district magistrate's(Siddhique) open criticism on the police who are not able to catch a fraudster accused in seventy plus cheque cases. And when he is caught we see Jayaram clad as  Vivekanandan, accused in multiple cheque frauds. As he request for more time to  tell his tale, the magistrate gives him enough amidst cutting vegetables and fishes at his home, to recuperate his lost stories.

Forced to shoulder the responsibility of his family, he gets into all the  mess where everyone who meets him cheats, which all our hero accepts with a thankful smile. Be it his brother in law(Jagadheesh),strangers on streets  or his lady love (muktha) and financiers, everyone makes it a policy to take a chance on our hero. He is soon chased by the men whom he owes money ,but with the twist and turns that follows in the form of semi paralyzed character played by Suresh Krishna and the womanizer played by Kailash, the movie strolls on becoming another painful adventure all through. Sudheesh comes up as Najeeb, his right hand, who is part of all his misadventures and the tame end adds to the voes of the viewers.

With a most unconvincing scripts by scenarist Rajesh Jayaraman, it needed to be researched how he and his director managed to bring people to put money on this poor flick. Maybe, the tales of satellite rights could have done the trick , which but ends up as a big suffering for viewers. There is hardly nothing that could ignite chuckles or even a smile in your face in the entire movie.

Jayaram, seems to have hardly cared for the role that he is in and the rest of the cast also have nothing much to do ,.And as usual , Shaji's technical standards are good though nothing else makes it a watchable stuff. It's best to  avoid this 'Ginger'.
