Knowing the limitations is the first thing that should happen in the film field. Son of a pretty good standing in Kannada cinema and political circles Jaggesh - Gururaj makes right selection, worked hard, proved that he has guts and intensity to perform. He is not a sweet looking guy. His complexion is black but looks good and has a macho physique. When he knows how to deliver what else is required. Black is always beautiful Gururaj!

A remake of `7 G Rainbow Colony' - `Gilli' is good in performance, cinematography and music. The second half could have been pruned to make it even better and make it faster.

Guru nicknamed as Gilli (Gururaj) is a useless youngster. Roaming, drinking, smoking, eating, arguing, bunking and sleeping are his qualities. Book and exams means a big aversion to him. He is considered as useless in the family. He has the looks of a dejected youth. In the colony where Gilli is living a North Indian family comes to stay. There is a charming Anitha (Rakul Preeth Singh) in that family. Gilli at first sight is bowled over by Anitha. But Anitha does not respond in any way to Gilli that disturb him a lot. Gilli tries in many ways to convince Anitha but all his attempts finally pays results. That is when Anitha realizes that the match for her from her parents is not up to the mark. She prefers Gilli but question Gilli on his status and ability to lead a life. Anitha traces the one good quality of dismantling and assembling the motorbike parts in Gilli and gets her a job in Yamaha Company. All is not good for the young lovers. Anitha had to elope with Gilli. Sadly in a road accident Anitha is run over by speedy vehicles and dies. Gilli remains a disheartened youth that is back to square one for him.

Gururaj has understood the strength of the role and performed easily. In a rain effect scene with the heroine after a scuffle and when he knows how much his father loves him - Gururaj is quite good. He has the action hero strength. The rough and tough guy roles suit him immaculately. Rakul Preeth Singh is bubbly on screen and in her debut showed signs of staying for a long in filmdom. Srinivasamurthy as the caring father is good again. The similar role Srinivasamurthy did for Puneeth Rajakumar debut film `Appu' where he was a constable. Yethiraj the younger brother of Gururaj is cool in the supporting role.

Yuvan Shanker Raja has come out with lovely tunes. Kannina Baashe sung by Karthik for Ramanarayan lyrics, Kanasu Kano..sung by Harish Raghavendra, Madhumitha, Ustad Sultan Khan and Nenedhu Nenedhu..by Shreya Goshal are very melodious. For the mood and flow of the film S Krishna camera work is adequate.

This is worth watching film.
