A notification for the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation polls was issued by the State Election Commission on Tuesday. The polls will be held on December 1. The result of the election will be out on December 4.

The date for filing nominations begins November 18, while the last date for the same is November 20. Scrutiny of the same is November 21. Candidates can withdraw nominations on November 22. Date of repoll if any is December 3.

Meanwhile, BJP Spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao has said that the SEC is taking orders from K Chandrasekhar Rao and that it has announced the poll dates to suit the ruling party's convenience. The party will now take up the issue with the Election Commission of India. "The Telangana State Election Commission seems to be running on the whims and fancies of KCR and his party TRS. BJP strongly denounces the method of functioning of SEC," he tweeted out.
