Ghazini

As of now, this is one of the confirmed entries for the Diwali race. With straight Telugu films most likely to make it only post-Diwali, Ghazini is one of the biggest expectations.

A dubbed version of the Tamil film of the same name,Ghajini is directed by Murugadoss, who is set to direct Chiranjeevi in a film named Stalin. So the expectations on this film are high. Adding more to it is the fact that this movie has been a run away hit in Tamil.

The story is simple but told with stylish raciness. It is about a millionaire businessman who loses his lover to girl-traffickers. So he sets out to avenge her killing. But his problem is he is afflicted with the condition short-term memory loss. The fall out of this is he can't remember anything for more than 15 minutes. So how does he go about killing the villains? That is where the director's inventive imagination comes in.

Surya is the hero. And by all accounts he has given a splendid performance. He has painstakingly undergone the metamorphosis from the smart businessman to the ill-at-ease memory-less revenge-seeker. Asin, the heroine, is a waft of fresh breeze. She is said to revelation in the film. Nayantra, as a medical researcher, puts in a nice cameo.

Prathap Singh Ravath is the villain and there is a suspense surrounding his role too.

Music by Harris Jeyaraj is very good, showing that he is very much the man in form.

Murugadoss sure has a grasp of telling good stories with a taut script. His story in Tagore went down well with the audience. Ghazini is said to be based on the Hollywood film Memento.

Oscar Madhu has got the rights for the film.
