'Mahanati', starring Keerthy Suresh as the legendary Savitri, will hit the screens on May 9.

Announcing the date this Ugadi, Vyjayanthi Movies says, "The greatest story ever told about the greatest actress that ever lived unfolds on May 9th!"

Samantha Akkineni, who is playing a key role in the movie, describes it as a masterpiece. Recently, her husband joined the film. Naga Chaitanya will be seen as ANR at important junctures in the movie.

Announcing the entry of Bhanupriya as a tribute-giver, the makers on Saturday said, "When great actors come together to pay tribute to the one Nadigaiyar Thilagam (the film's Tamil title)".

Dulquer Salman as Gemini Ganesan, Vijay Devarakonda, Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao, Prakash Raj as Chakrapani, Malavika Nair, Shalini Pandey and others are part of the cast. It's directed by Nag Ashwin of 'Yevade Subrahmanyam' fame.
