This is not a biopic on a glamorous personality, not one on a movie legend or a cult politician. Not even on an academician. It's a biopic on a student leader named George Reddy. He attained cult status as a messiah in the 1960s. Leading a socialist movement, he was a sought-after man touted to be a future leader in Andhra Pradesh. In 1972, however, his rivals assassinated him inside the Osmania University in Hyderabad.
Titled 'George Reddy', the film has been written and directed by Jeevan Reddy of 'Dalam' fame. Produced by Appi Reddy on Mic Movies, the film's pre-look is out. "We will be ready with the product by Summer," the makers say.
Music is by Suresh Bobbili. Cinematography is by Sudhakar Reddy Yokkanti, who handled the camera for the Marathi blockbuster 'Sairat'. Editing is by Karthika Srinivas.
