Gentleman: Still going rock-solid

From day one, 'Gentleman' has been only stealing a march over others. It didn't take even a day for the audience to self-announce its success. As Mohankrishna Indraganti would tell IndiaGlitz three days later, this is the biggest hit of his career. In fact, the film is on the verge of being Tollywood's one of the biggest hits of the year.
No wonder that, for the distributors, the break-even is already there even before 'Gentleman' was done with a 10-days run.
The worldwide share for 10 days stands at a spectacular Rs. 15,02,91,953 cr. The Telugu States' share stands at Rs. 10,22,91,953 cr, while in Karnataka, the romantic thriller got a share of about Rs. 1.05 cr.
The figures only go to prove that the audience are out to patronize films that are not run-of-the-mill. They are out to lap up those entertainers that are distinct with a purpose. David Nathan's story triggered off this BO hit, thanks to producer Shivalenka Prasad (who has come back to production after a sabbatical of 6 years) drawing Indraganti. The director himself would have gone to doing independent cinema (as he told IndiaGlitz) had it not been for the producer-story writer duo.
While Nani has walked away with encomiums, Niveda Thomas has been universally acclaimed as a fabulous find. Her fan base is ever-growing since the film's release. The Kerala girl, who was seen in a few Mollywood and Kollywood films, is now the new heartthrob in the town. Her role in making this film a grand success can't be overlooked.
Defying all shibboleths, the film has worked well even with non-A class centre audiences. The share of Nizam, Ceded and Uttarandhra are pegged at Rs. 4.80 cr, Rs. 1.24 cr and Rs. 1.21 cr, respectively.
As for Overseas, this one has proved to be Nani's career biggest hit. The US' share alone is pegged at Rs. 3.40 cr.
