There is no truth in the news that Genelia D' Souza was banned by the Movie Artistes' Association. This was clarified by none other than Murali Mohan, an important member of the film fraternity.

The actress has not applied for membership of MAA in the past 8 years (her first film was released in 2003), but there has been no ban on her ever.

It is said that the actress was several times in the past asked to take membership of the Association; however, Genelia did not act on them.
