Last weekend saw at least four new Tamil films released and all of them are small and medium budget films. The film which released in the biggest number of screens is the Atharvaa starrer 'Gemini Ganesanum Suruli Raajanum'. followed by Krishna starrer 'Pandigai', Chandran-Anandhi starrer 'Rubaai' and Ahswin-Swathy starrer 'Thiri'.

As far as Chennai Box Office is concerned, 'GGSR', 'Pandigai' and 'Rubaai' have taken a Good opening with an average of 80-85% theater occupancy for each film in the first weekend. 'Thiri' has taken an Average opening. This despite the increase in the ticket prices after the GST.

'Pandigai' with unanimous positive reviews and 'GGSR' which has acquired good reviews and word of mouth as a time pass entertainer are expected to continue their merry run the theaters in the coming weekdays also.
