Yesteryear hero Gemini Ganesan had been known as the King of romance, and was fondly called by fans as Kadhal Mannan, for portraying romantic roles on screen. Another actor from his family, his grandson Abinay had made his debut as an actor way back in 2014.

He had played renowned mathematician Ramanjuam in his biopic titled Ramanujam directed by Gnana Rajasekaran, and had received accolades for his performance. He was also seen on screen later playing Vaibhav's friend in the hit movie Chennai 600028 IInd Innings directed by Venkat Prabhu.

Now it has been revealed that after a gap, Abinay is all set to start his next movie as hero, and this movie will have him paired with actress Smruthi Venkat who had made her debut earlier this year with the Arun Vijay starrer superhit thriller Thadam. The movie will also star comedy actor Chams and more details are awaited on this project.
