Geethanjali Music Review

Praveen Lakkaraju's music for this album is inspired.  The album, nevertheless, is decently entertaining.

It has got a melange of voices and genres of music.

The lyrical quality is good.

Coffee

Artists: Ramya Behra, Srikrishna
Lyricist: Sreejo

The song is a tribute to that ubiquitous coffee.  It comes across as a semi-duet what with both the girl and the boy joining hands to give coffee a fitting tribute.  The vocals are alright whereas the lyrics lack a poetic quality.  It's a candyfloss song with sub par music.

Naa Manasu Thakey

Artists: Harini, Hari Charan
Lyricist: Sreejo

The melodious song is feel-good. The lyrics hold a mirror to the boy's feelings when he is in love, the girl's feelings join to lend a new lyricial and poetic touch.  A good song with two mellifluous voices of Harini and Hari Charan, this one has no original music whatsoever.

Raghuvamsha Sudha

Artists: Pranavi, Meghraj, Rahul
Lyricist: Sreejo

The song starts off like a Western pop and has doses of a Thyagaraja kirtana.  Pranavi's soothing voice gives it a classical feel but the song's plus ends here.  The lyrics border on the devotional but the music is a let down.  Reminiscent of the Calakatta number from Chiranjeevi's Choodalani Undhi, it's in a remix mode.

Saaitan Raj

It's now quite predictable how a Baba Sehgal song would be like.  This song of his, like the earlier ones, follows a regular template.  Brahmanandam's voice comes with a comic dose, along with alliterations.  Pranavi is fine but the music should have been new.

Vishwaroopam

The song is a welcome change in an album full of regular numbers.  Shankar Mahadevan is a god-send for Tollywood when it comes to crooning devotional songs, be it a soothing one or a high decibel one.  This song seems to be a situational song that comes at an intense moment.  A good song with excellent vocals and good instrumentation.
