'I am entering the Lok Sabha Elections fray with the achievements of my father late S Bangarappa to Shimoga district’ – This is Geetha Shivarajakumar speaking to the crowded media with her husband century star Shivarajakumar sitting next to her at the Meet the Press organized by Bangalore Press Club and Bangalore Reporters Guild on Tuesday.

Irrespective of the results from this LS election I would work for the people. The reason behind selecting Janata Dal Secular party is because this party supported my father in difficult days in politics. My brother Madhu Bangarappa is also MLA in this party. Kumar Bangarappa another brother in Congress I political party has separate goals and I don’t think his support is needed says Geetha Shivarajakumar.

I want to keep up the good name of my father. I continue to take up many people friendly works. I am filing the nomination on March 24. After that I do campaign door to door. Hear to each and every problem.

There is collected opinion on me entering the fray. Both the families have been consulted. My mother Smt Shakuntala is not in good health. Instead of her I am contesting the elections. I don’t have any ulterior motives. I am born and brought up in Shimoga. In the last Assembly elections when my brother Madhu contested from JDS, I have done campaigning. I knows various problems of the people of Shimoga such as irrigation, areca nut growers, Dhandavani irrigation plans etc.

For a question how long the sympathy of S Bangarappa would carry forward, the people of Shimoga would answer to this question stated Geetha Shivarajakumar.

With confidence to win I am entering the elections. I would not speak on the weaknesses of my opponents in the elections firmly says Geetha Shivarajakumar.
