'Geetha Govindam' copied from my film: Raghavendra Rao

'Pelli Sandadi', one of the biggest hits in K Raghavendra Rao's career, had a distinction. It didn't have a single kissing moment. Those were the days when duets saw one or more kisses between an assertive hero and his shy (and occasionally welcoming) girl.
The veteran filmmaker was recently speaking on 'Geetha Govindam' when he humorously commented that the Vijay Deverakonda film is a copy of 'Pelli Sandadi' in one respect. He was referring to the fact that there is not a single kiss involving the hero and Rashmika Mandanna's character. "It's difficult to make a rom-com without a kiss. The director would face pressure from his producer to include at least one kissing scene. I appreciate Parasuram for not bowing to the pressure," Raghavendra Rao joked.
The 'kiss' reference is inappropriate in the context of 'Geetha Govindam', in which Geetha (Rashmika) is uncomfortable with Govind (Deverakonda) for trying to clandestinely kiss her during a bus journey.
