The Hamas-run Health Ministry reported hundreds of Gaza City hospital blast deaths on Tuesday. Injury victims and Palestinian refugees filled the hospital. Hamas claimed an Israeli attack, but Israel accused Palestinian terrorists' inadvertent missile fire.It was reported that 500 died.
The hospital violence and President Joe Biden's Middle East tour to end the war delayed Wednesday's regional summit in Amman. The Biden meeting included Abdullah II, Abbas, and Sissi.Jordan's foreign minister Ayman Safadi told state TV that Israel-Hamas conflict was "pushing the region to the brink." The Jordan summit required everyone to "stop the war, respect the humanity of the Palestinians, and give them the aid they deserve."A White House source stated Biden will only visit Israel.
The al-Ahli Hospital bombing was terrible. The Associated Press reported hospital video showing the building on fire and disfigured children on the grounds. Bags, blankets, and more were on the grass.
Gaza is isolated from Israel after Hamas' murderous onslaught in southern Israel last week. The US asked Israel to help hospitals, humanitarian groups, and the poor. More desperate individuals sought food and water. The Tuesday hospital blast was "a horrific massacre" by Israel, according to Hamas.
Israel blamed smaller but more extreme Palestinian terrorist group Islamic Jihad, which works with Hamas. The military reported "intelligence from multiple sources" that Islamic Jihad terrorists fired rockets near the hospital.
Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, Army press office head, told reporters the blast had no air, ground, or naval threats. He said radar detected rocket launching and terrorist communications proved Islamic Jihad shot them.
Military drone footage of a detonation Hagari stated couldn't have been caused by Israeli weaponry was shown. He stated it happened in the building's parking lot and the number of deaths was unknown. The military said militant groups fired 450 missiles at Israel since the battle, which "harmed and endangered the lives of Gazan residents."
Islamic Jihad stated Israel was "trying hard to avoid responsibility for the brutal massacre it committed."
The group said Israel told Al-Ahli to evacuate and demolished the facility. The investigation blamed Israel for the bomb's magnitude, angle, and damage.
Since Israel ordered everyone to escape to the southern Gaza Strip, hundreds of Palestinians have taken refuge in al-Ahli and other Gaza City hospitals.Ambulances and private cars carried 350 al-Ahli bomb victims to al-Shifa, Gaza City's major hospital. The hospital's director, Mohammed Abu Selmia, said prior strikes hurt hundreds. Painful victims cried and fell on the bloody floor.
