Gautham sends 'Varanam Aayiram' to the butcher

Following reviews that 'Varanam Aayiram' was slow in the second half and scenes glorifying Suriya as a macho man was needless in the movie director Gautham Vasudev Menon has trimmed the movie.

The scenes where Suriya rescues a child from terrorists have been chopped from the movie.

Sources say that it is an attempt to trim the film and make it taut. Released last week-end, the movie managed a bumper opening, but audience complained that it was too lengthy and the second half was tedious to watch.

The movie is now a real fun to watch, says an avid-fan of Surya, who watched both the original and the edited version.
