Gautham Menon to direct 'Nayattu' Tamil remake?

Martin Prakkat’s survival drama ‘Nayattu’ hit the big screens in April this year, at a time when Kerala reported a surge in COVID-19 cases. Later, the movie was streamed on Netflix and opened to overwhelming responses from all corners. Now, the latest is that the remake rights of the movie in Tamil and Hindi, and Telugu languages have been sold for a huge sum. Reportedly, the Tamil remake will be helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. An official word regarding the remake and its cast and crew are awaited!

The movie starring Kunchacko Boban, Joju George, and Nimisha Sajayan, centered around three cops who are on a run after accidentally getting involved in a crime. Bankrolled by director Ranjith Balakrishnan, PM Sasidharan, and Martin Prakkat under the banners of Gold Coin Motion Picture Company and Martin Prakkat Films respectively, Nayattu also starred Jaffar Idukki, Anil Nedumangad and Harikrishnan appear in supporting roles. Scripted by ‘Joseph’ fame Shahi Kabir, the movie's cinematography is handled by Shyju Khalid and the edits are by Mahesh Narayanan and Rajesh Rajendran.
