Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is set for his digital debut with his first web series Queen, and the teaser of Queen was released yesterday. The trailer of Queen will be released on December 5, and this series will premiere on MX player as an MX original series.

Said to be based on the life of former Chief minister of Tamil Nadu and actress Jayalalithaa, Queen is a fictional tale which is not an exact biopic but will be inspired from the life of Jayalalitha. Ramya Krishnan plays the lead role in this web series in a character named Shakthi.

While Anikha Surendran who has acted in movies like Yennai Arindhaal and Viswasam plays the childhood version of the lead character, it has been revealed that actress Anjana Jayaprakash who had acted in Karthick Naren's debut movie Dhuruvangal 16 will play the 18 year old version of the character.
