Gautham Menon, one of the most influential filmmakers in Tamil cinema known for delivering numerous classic movies, has yet to direct a film in his native language, Malayalam. Recently, reports have surfaced that GVM is set to make his Malayalam debut with a new movie starring Mammootty.
Today, Gautham Menon's new film with Mammootty officially began filming in Kochi with a traditional pooja ceremony. Photos and videos from the launch event are already making waves on the internet. Reportedly, Samantha will be the leading lady in this movie, which is produced by Mammootty Kampany. The shooting is said to begin today.
This untitled project marks GVM's next film after 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu'. On another front, the filmmaker has been striving to release his long-pending film 'Dhruva Natchathiram' starring Chiyaan Vikram. However, the issues surrounding the film remain unresolved, and the wait for its release continues.
