Gautham Menon known as the classic director enjoys the status as one of the few directors in South Indian cinema who can pull the crowds to the theaters with his name alone. The social conscious filmmaker has joined in to do his bit in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic by releasing an awareness video.
GVM in the video urging people to stay indoors and not venture out has stated with guts not to watch two of his most popular movies Thala Ajith's 'Yennai Arindhaal' and Simbu's 'Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada'. Ajith in his movie would take his daughter for a trip across the country and Simbu would take his lover Manjima Mohan on a long-distance bike trip.
The logic behind why GVM is asking fans not to watch the movies is that it may trigger the urge to go out and do the same with their loved ones which would result in disastrous consequences with the coronavirus rampage. Instead, he advised them to watch Suriya's 'Vaaranam Aayiram' in which he would force himself to stay home after the death of his lover and use the time to work out and build up a six-pack body. He also requested those staying at home to read more and also help the needy in any way they can.
Professionally Gautham Menon is on a high after his web series 'Queen' garnered critical praise and his acting in both hit movies 'Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal' and 'Trance' was much appreciated.
