Grounds have been prepared to remake the Tollywood super hit movie 'Ala Modalaindi' in Tamil. Gautham Karthik of 'Kadal' fame has been signed in as the hero of this remake project; the original had Telugu charm Nani and Nithya Menon in the lead, with Sneha Ullal playing an important role. The movie will be produced by the new venture Raviprasad Productions, which belongs to the same group as Raviprasad Outdoor Unit and Raviprasad Film Lab; the former has been handling film shooting equipment supplies for three decades in South Indian film industry, while the latter processing, printing, editing, digital intermediate, preview theatre, etc.

The movie will be produced by P Ravikumar and PV Prasad. The music for the upcoming project is said to be composed by Imman. Ravi Thyagarajan, who has assisted director Priyadarshan in many movies, including the award winning film 'Kanchivaram', will debut as director in this film. The film will be predominantly shot in Mysore, Hyderabad and a few exotic locations abroad. Other cast and crew are under selection process. Once done, the project is likely to go on the floors, soon. Meanwhile, Gautham Karthik is also said to have received an invitation from director Aishwarya Dhanush for a film, for which Anirudh will compose the tunes.
