When his associate Anjana was ready with a 'good script' and was looking for a producer, her mentor Gautham Vasudev Menon readily came forward to fund the project, and the end-product 'Veppam' is now all set to hit the screens.

Starring Karthik Kumar and Bindu Madhavi in lead roles, the film produced by Gautham's Photon Kathas will be released on July 29. A bilingual, it will hit the screens in Andhra Pradesh too, titled 'Sega'.

Says Anjana, "The film revolves around five people- a mechanic (Karthik Kumar), an artist who works for an ad company (Muthukumar), a student (Naani), a commercial sex worker (Bindu Madhavi) and a staff of a xerox shop (Nithya Menen)."

Set in the backdrop of North Chennai, the 'birthplace' of many raw-stories in Tamil cinema, 'Veppam' is said to be an action-thriller. "Life is all about twists and turns. Veppam is one such story," Anjana signs off.
