After dabbling in Bollywood, director Krish has become a professional with a difference. This was very much on display in 'Kanche', where he didn't compromise in the name of commerciality, even while satisfying the nativity criterion. Once again, for 'Gautamiputra Satakarni', he has been on a similar sojourn. It has been clear from the beginning, especially in the choice of shoot locations (Morocco) for filming war sequences. Latest, he has roped in Neetu Lulla, the acclaimed costume designer, who has won the National Award thrice.
"Her noticeable works include 'Devdas' and 'Jodha Akbar'. Neetu Lulla is working closely with director Krish, cameraman Gnanashekar VS and the art department to create the costume designs of right texture and color. She has conducted a wide research on art and culture that was prevalent during the times of Satavahana (78-100 AD). Neetu Lulla also collaborated with world`s best jewelry makers to sketch the authentic model samples and preparing jewels," a source says.
'After a thorough research, I have crafted and conceptualized the look for each of the characters with apt colors and fabrics. We have studied lot of Amaravathi structures and developed sketches from figurines eventually mounted in form. The warrior armors had a lot of detailing that was achieved through careful understanding of the era while providing necessary appeal,' Neetu Lulla has been quoted as saying.
So, expect Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shriya Saran, Hema Malini and other important cast members to shine in magnificent attire.
The historical is currently being shot (climax sequences) in Georgia.
