Delhi BJP MP and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir has today stirred a row by almost directly hitting out at his BJP colleague Kapil Mishra in the wake of violence in Delhi. As per him, Mishra did make a provocative speech on Sunday, causing violence that resulted in the death of seven people on Monday.
"No matter who the person is, whether he is Kapil Mishra or anyone else, belonging to any party, if he has given any provoking speech then strict action should be taken against him," Gambhir told ANI.
He added, "If policemen are not safe (referring to the killing of a constable by anti-CAA protesters), we can imagine the state in which common people's thinking must be."
On Monday, hours after violence rocked North-East Delhi, Gambhir said that he was extremely sad to hear about the death of the senior police constable Ratan Lal during violent anti-CAA protests.
