Gaumont, the first and oldest film company in the world, which co-produced and distributed Intouchables, is "extremely glad for Oopiri/Thozha". In a statement, the company has said that it was a "privilege to work with PVP, who made the adaptation in such a short period of time".

Saying that Intouchables is France's highest grossing movie of all time, the company has said that the "first Indian adaptation ever" makes them feel glad.

The statement further said, "We also want to thank Guneet Monga who had acquired the remake rights in the first place".
