Trailer of Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is finally out now

After a really long period of waiting, the trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' was finally released on Friday and it became a talking point in no time. Without revealing any of the plot details, the trailer managed to establish characters and set the tone of the film. The titular character, played by Alia Bhatt, comes off as a bold and fearless person who has lot of challanges ahead of her.
The trailer basically shows Gangubai making her way through a man's world in order to earn some dignity for herself and people associated with her. It also gives brief glimpses of Vijay Raaz and Jim Sarbh's characters and Ajay Devgan's also shines for a brief moment in the role of real life mobster Karim Lala.
The film is based on celebrated author Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' and it follows the real life story of a girl who was sold into prostitution at a young age but used her wits to gain power and become a renowned name in the Mumbai underworld of the 60s and 70s. Post this, Bhansali will work on his passion project 'Heera Mandi', which also has somewhat similar tone and setting.
