Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is one the most anticipated films of this year and Alia Bhatt's fans are desperate to witness her in this epic project. According to the latest announcement by makers, the film is going to release on 25th of February. "Witness her reign in cinemas near you on 25th February 2022 #GangubaiKathiawadi," the official announcement read.

Alia herself also announced the release date via an Instagram post. She shared a couple of pics of herself looking at the moon and wrote, "Dekho chand aaya … chand nazar aaya. Gangu bhi aa rahi hain .. 25th February Ko."

The film was originally supposed to release on 6th of January but it was postponed in the wake of rising Covid-19 cases throughout the country. 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is based on real life figures of the Mumbai underworld during the 80s. It is an adaptation of Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for portraying larger than life stories on screen with incredible visual spectacles so given his collaboration with incredibly talented Alia Bhatt, there's a lot to expect from this film.
