After allegations that Prakash Jha’s ‘Raajneeti’ is inspired from Mahabharat, here is yet another forthcoming film which is said to be based on the Indian epic.

‘Gangs Of Wasseypur II’ has been found out to be following the lines of Mahabharat by some sources, a fact which apparently was not noticed by the makers of the film before.

According to the sources, Faizal Khan (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) kind of resemble the great warrior Arjun, who is smart, charming fearless and leads the fight from the front.

His elder brother Danish (played by Vineet Singh) as the powerful aggressive, Bheem; while Nasir (played by Piyush Mishra) is like Bheeshma Pitamah, who supports Faizal.

Sultan, (Pankaj Tripathy) who is Faizal’s enemy, is like Duryodhan. JP Singh (Satya Anand) as Shakuni, Iqlakh (Gaurav Sharma) as Dushasan.

However, there seem to be a twist in the story - sources feel that Krishna and Arjun seem to be on the opposite sides. For instance, Krishna is on the Kauravas’ side.

When these things were brought to director Anurag Kashyap’s notice, he found it strange to find the resemblance with Mahabharat.

He was quoted saying to sources, "GOW is a story spanning generations, the epicness of its construct was organic.

The traits of each character are defined by their respective pasts."
