Legendary lyricist Vairamuthu compared the roles of music and lyrics in the greatness of a song in his recent stage speech. Gangai Amaran says in the video, “Without Ilaiyaraaja, there wouldn’t be a Vairamuthu today. He would not have gotten a chance if Ilayaraja had not used his lyrics in ‘Idhu Oru Ponmalai Pozhudhu’ from ‘Nizhalgal’. Vairamuthu may be a good poet but he is not a good man. He forgot the man who helped him in his career. If he controversially talks about Ilaiyaraaja from now on, he would have to face severe consequences.”
