In the long running graft case against the late Chief Minister Jayalalitha and her confidante Sasikala it is alleged that the latter and her family forcefully bought famous music composer and film director Gangai Amaran’s 22 acre land in Payanur in the ECR.
Speaking to a leading weekly Gangai Amaran has stated that his heart is heavy as he lost his land which he bought out of hard earned money singing in orchestras, composing music and directing low budget films. He has revealed that one fine day Sudakaran the nephew of Sasikala took him to see Jayalalitha who just got his flower basket and left. After that the Sasikala family had told him that the then CM loved his farm house and land and wanted to buy it from him. When Gangai Amaran politely refused stating his family didn’t want to sell the gang one fine morning landed in his house with a sub registrar in two and forcefully made the entire family sign papers and only later they came to know that it was registered under Sasikala’s name.
Gangai Amaran in a very frustrated mood has stated that the powerful people paid him only thirteen lakhs for the property worth crores. He has admitted that since Jayalalitha has passed away now people can boldly talk about the atrocities and he finished off by saying that the law will take its course and punish the offenders.
