Following the incident in Tripura where a Lenin statue was demolished, the nation has been witnessing vandalism in various parts where statues of leaders have been attacked, damaged and destructed. Not to mention BJP National Secretary H.Raja’s opinion on demolishing on Periyar statues in TN, the politician has been receiving flak from all corners.

Now in a new and deeply disturbing development, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi was at the receiving end of this damaging act in Kerala’s Kannur. An unknown idividual has broken the spectacles on the statue in addition to hurling stones and damaging the garland of the same as well.

However, the police had apprehended a mentally unstable man pertaining to this stating that there was no political connection. On another related news, miscreants have also poured paint on the bust of Dr.BR Ambedkar in Chennai.
