More than 300 medicos have called off their strike at the Gandhi Hospital after Telangana Health Minister Eatala Rajender assured them that their "genuine demands" will be looked into. Their condition is that the strike will be resumed if their demands are not met in 15 days.

Decentralization of Covid-19 hospitalization facilities is one of their major demands. Recruitment of additional doctors and nurses to cater to the growing burden is another of their demands.

After the Minister held talks with the association's representatives, the medicos requested him to get "personally involved" in resolving the issues.

For the last few days, the lack of preparedness at the Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad has been exposed by the doctors. They have succeeded in making their point not only for themselves but also for Covid-19 patients. The ball is now in the court of the government.
