While some fans seemed to be happy with the bitter-sweet finale of one of TV’s most sensational shows, Game of Thrones, most of them were left feeling unsatisfied after its 10-year long run, as the finale did not end on a high note, and also left a number of questions unanswered.
There is good news for fans of the show who are not ready to let go of it just yet. Recent reports suggest that shooting for the Game of Thrones prequel, set thousands of years before the events of the original show, has already begun in Ireland, which happens to be a location where many of the portions were shot. The prequel/spin-off, titled “Bloodman,” is reportedly under production currently and will most likely release towards the end of 2020 or early 2021. Although HBO has stated in an e-mail that it has “not confirmed production” yet.
The writers of Game of Thrones, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who received extreme criticism for the poor penning of the final season’s script, will not be writing the prequel. X-Men: Days of Future Past’s writer Jane Goldman will reportedly be handling the job. As far as the content of the prequel is concerned, the focus of the series will apparently be on the Children Of The Forest, who are responsible for the evolution of the Night King, and will reveal “horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers.”
