Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has said in a completely contrasting manner to Indian skipper Virat Kohli's statement on the team composition for the upcoming Worldcup that this team does not possess the strength and even adding Dhoni won't help the cause.
Ahead of the fifth ODI against Aussies, which India lost, skipper Kohli had said that the team playing the final ODI was more or less the team that will be playing Worldcup. He said that the team was balanced, as when Chahal misses out, Jadeja can be the all rounder, and in absence of KL Rahul, Shami can be handy with the ball and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar down the order can also bat, and hence till number 8 there are batsmen.
However, in a stark contrast to Kohli's words, former Indian cricketer Gambhir who had been pivotal in India's second worldcup victory under MS Dhoni, said though there's nothing much to change in the squad as IPL will be immediately followed by Worldcup, the current playing XI does not give confidence, and even the inclusion of Dhoni can't strengthen the team and there won't be any batting depth. This statement of Gambhir has shocked Indian cricketing fraternity.
