The Gaja Cyclone that has left the Delta region in Tamil Nadu in a state of extreme disruption as crops and cattle have been destroyed and power supply has not been restored in many places. Makkal Neethi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan left from Chennai to Trichy by flight and from there travelled on road to the affected areas to extend his solidarity to the people and also inspect the relief measures his partymen are undertaking there.
Earlier at Trichy airport Kamal Haasan pressed the need for the Prime Minister to visit and see for himself the extent of the damages and also assured that his cadres are willing to work with the government giving full cooperation in this crisis. He revealed that his party has so far donated relief materials worth rupees two crores.
