Gaddama
Kavya Madhavan has been one actress who had been consistently delivering good characters in her impressive career of 17 years. Starting as a child artiste with Kamal movie 'Azhagiya Raavanan', she had been one of the most talented actress to have been in the industry in the last decade after Manju Warrier and Samyuktha Varma. Now in her comeback to filmdom after her marriage, Kavya will be seen in one of her career best roles in the new movie under production titled as 'Gaddama'. Directed by her favourite director Kamal, much of the movie has been shot in the middle east with a few Arab artists in the castlines.
The movie will have Kavya as Aswathy, a beautiful girl from a poor family. She was supporting her family consisting of her mother and younger sister with a petty job in a pickle factory. When an marriage alliance from Radhakrishnan, a driver of a J CB came their way, the family immediately decided to agree to the relation as Radhakrishnan was found to be a good person. But things were not as they expected. Aswathy was now forced to face new kinds of turmoils in her married life and ultimately she was forced to move on to gulf as a domestic servant to earn some money to tide over her new financial problems. She is now one among thousands of 'Gaddama's clad in a purdah and working day and night in the houses of local chiefs, just like slaves. 'Gaddama' thus deal with the pathetic life situations of plenty of domestic workers left in the middle east.
Kavya who had been in the Gulf countries for the shoot of the films opines that she had been to more devastating stories of real experiences of Gaddama's, than they are already filming. Along with Kavya Madhavan, Biju Menon, Sreenivasan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Muralikrishnna, Jafer Idukki, Sasi Kalinga, K P A C Lalitha, Niyas, Lena and Sukumari does important roles in this movie.
Based on a story by K U Iqbal, K Gireeshkumar pens the dialogues of 'Gaddama' while the director Kamal scripts the screenplay. Bennet Vitraag is in charge of music while Manoj Pillai is the cinematographer. K Rajagopal does the editing while Suresh Kollam heads the art department.
Produced by P V Pradeep in the banner of Anitha productions, 'Gaddama' will get into theatres this February.
