Gabbar Singh audio unveiled by Chiru
- IndiaGlitz, [Monday,April 16 2012]
As expected, when Chiranjeevi graced the event of Gabbar Singh's audio release function, he utilised the opportunity to connect with his fans and reaffirm the unity of the Mega family. Held at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad on the evening of April 15 (Sunday), it saw the attendance of the three Mega brothers, along with Bunny. Producer Bandla Ganesh, director Harish Shankar, actress Shruthi Hassan, Brahmanandam, Kota, Ali, singers Karthick and Shweta Mohan and others were present. Among other guests were Vytla, Shyamprasad Reddy, Dil Raju and lyricists Chandrabose, Ramajogayya Sastry and Bhaskarabhatla.
The event was modelled on the lines of Panjaa audio release function. Marked by many dance performances and special videos made on Pawan's career and personality, a highlight was DSPÂs musical feast with a team specially brought in from Chennai. Chiru, Pawan and Naga Babu were seated next to each other, while Bunny and Shruti were seen sharing lighter moments.
When Harish Shankar spoke, he was a bit excited. I have always been a big fan of Power Star since my college days. Twenty kilometres from here, at BHEL, Tammudu and Toli Prema were shot. I used to bunk the college every day to catch a glimpse of Pawan. I am today happy to have made a film with him.
Listening to Bandla Ganesh's speech, Pawan was convulsing in laughter. It was such a panegyric. Sometimes Pawan comes across as Bhagat Singh to me. At other times, he seems like Sardar Patel. When I go to meet him at his home, I see a brother in him. If there were one Pawan in each town, India would be better off. Unfortunately, there is only one Pawan Kalyan. One week after the release of Teen Maar, he called me up and asked, How is the film doing? I said that it was not up to our expectations. It was then he decided to give me the opportunity to produce Gabbar Singh, otherwise he was to produce it (under Pawan Kalyan Creative Arts). I will give you a super duper hit, he said to me, Ganesh said.
Shruti described Pawan as a down-to-earth person. She valued GS as a big project for her. Saying that she was a bit nervous before going on the floors, she described it as a fun experience.
Chiranjeevi delivered a lengthy speech. Your cheers and claps are like oxygen for us stars. Hadn't I decided to become an actor 35 years ago, my family would have missed a valuable life. Let me reassert, we will continue to make films for your sake. At times when we make films as per our tastes, we may miss the mark. After Magadheera, Charan wanted to try something different and so he did a lover boy's role in Orange. It did not do quite well as was expected. He did Racha keeping you in mind and it worked. Ditto with Pawan. He tried to do something different in the past. He is now trying to do what I did after Hitler. I tell you, GS will be 'racha racha'. As that song goes, it will be 'kevvu keka.
Pawan expressed happiness over the presence Chiranjeevi and other family members. Saying that GS will be a full-on entertainer, he thanked the team effort. He indicated that GS has got loads of laughter.
