Singer Pazhani is popular for his gaana songs in many Tamil films and lives with his family in the Pulianthope area in Chennai. His 34-year-old son Dharani was love with 22-year-old Vijaya Banu for five years and got married in July this year. Within a few days Dharani has shown his true colors to his young wife and pledged her twenty sovereigns of gold and then started using violence on her to go to her home and get more money from her parents.

Vijay Banu then happened upon Dharani's cellphone and was shocked to find his intimate photos with another woman and when she questioned him he started physically assaulting her again. The injured girl informed her parents about what transpired and a complaint was lodged at the Pulianthope police station.

In the police investigation, it came to light that Dharani has an illegal affair with a woman Nithya who was ten years older than him and was married with two children. and a third child was born to him a year earlier. The cops have arrested and booked Dharani, his mother Rajeshwari and sister Bharani for demanding dowry, threatening life and committing fraud.
