Box Office records are being shattered worldwide as the seventh installment in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise is racing ahead of all other films released this year. 'Furious 7' has so far grossed $143.6 million in the US to claim the ninth-highest opening weekend of all time. Meanwhile, in India, the film is on track to soon become the highest-grossing Hollywood film of all time.

'Furious 7' has hauled at the Indian Box Office a massive Rs 12.30 crores on its opening day and another Rs 12 crores on Saturday. Reports are coming in declaring the estimated total weekend collection could be around Rs. 45 crore. The film has been pitted against the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!' which has managed to pull in Rs. 8.95 crore in its first two days.

Analysts and fans alike consider two major reasons as the working factors for 'Furious 7'. First, 'Furious 7' being the late Paul Walker's final film. in comparison to Dibakar Banerjee's stylish 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!' opening in 1,240 screens, the Hollywood blockbuster has opened in 2,300 screens across India. Secondly, the incident is reminiscent to what happened with Heath Ledger and 'The Dark Knight' (2008). Fans all over the world have been thronging the theatres to watch Paul Walker's last screen performance which had gotten cut short after his untimely demise in a car crash on November 30, 2013.
