It has been a tight race so far. 'Furious 7' has sped away at the worldwide box office topping the collective gross of the 2012 blockbuster 'Avengers' after 11 weeks of release. The latest installment of the 'Fast and Furious' has now made $1.520 billion at the worldwide box office, thereby speeding past the $1.519 billion total of the first Avengers film.
As a result, 'Furious 7' is now placed at the number three position on the list of all-time worldwide box office collections with the 'Avengers' falling to the fourth spot. That being said, the 'Avengers' is now placed right next to its sequel 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' with $1.368 billion.
It still needs to be seen how long 'Furious 7' hold onto the number three spot since 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' can come close to giving it competition on some levels and the current worldwide phenomenon 'Jurassic World' coming in fast.
