It's known that 'Fun Bucket' Bhargav was arrested the other day after he was accused by a 14-year-old girl of impregnating her. With a lot of people arguing that it was a consensual relationship, singer Chinmayi Sreepada has issued a video statement, in which she said that a child can't consent to a romantic/sexual relationship. She stressed that having consensual sex with a minor tantamounts to rape as per Indian law.
"What Bhargav did has to be called sexual grooming. Even if a minor confesses her love to an adult person, it is the responsibility of the latter to tell her to not think about love. Bhargav's age is 27, while the girl's age is 14. Only idiots will call it a consensual relationship. Those below the age of 18 are legally prohibited from being their own authority. Unless there is a parental concern or legal guardianship, a child can't give any consent," Chinmayi, who has been actively promoting anti-pedophilia ideas, said.
"It's illegal to be in a sexual relationship with a minor. There is no question of consent. Children can't consent to anything," she added.
"A teen girl or boy can have a crush on an adult. It's not the same as having a relationship with her or him. Don't sexually groom a child. In Bhargav's case, it's only his mistake. He impregnated her and he is guilty of rape," Chinmayi said.
