Film promotions can also lead to new inventions - that's what producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani discovered during the music launch of their forthcoming venture Fukrey. The makers were awed by The Mitticool (clay fridge), which has been created by Mansukh Prajapati and Raj Shankhalpara, who were handpicked for the launch through a talent hunt.
The refrigerator runs without electricity. Both Ritesh and Farhan were mighty impressed with 100 per cent biodegradable product and were worried that it would not be successful.
They are now thinking of purchasing the fridge and become its first proud owners. Source said, "The products presented at the competition were very innovative and interestingly designed. The contestants have managed to put together an interesting mix of products. We are considering getting The Mitticool refrigerator for our office."
Fukrey, which is colloquial for good for nothing in Delhi, has been directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba. It features actors Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Richa Chada, Vishakha Singh and Priya Anand. The film is slated to hit theatre on June 14.
