After a supporting act in EK Main Aur Ekk Tu as Kareena Kapoor's elder sister, Manasi Scott is getting back to her first love - 'singing'. She has now decided to go down the memory lane and present tracks that made her the pop diva that she today is.
Informs a source, "She started her career 11 years ago by singing covers of artists like Whitney Houston, Allanah Myles, Allanis Morrisette and Mariah Carey. Now she is reliving those soulful tracks and is adding zing by singing covers of Adele and Katy Perry as well. While she promises to woo audience with her vocals, the ones backing her up are Gino Banks on drums, Sheldon d'silva on bass, Jarvis Menezes on keyboards, Shanon Perreira on lead, Nigel Rajaratnam on sax, acoustic and keys and Shannon Donald on backing vocals."
Manasi's idea is to relive the retro with a dash of the modern day music. Currently juggling between her radio show and live performances, Manasi is thrilled with the way she is managing to strike a balance between her music and film career.
Informs a friend of the actress, "She played an important part in John Abraham's 'Jhootha Hi Sahi' as well. Now after 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' she has been further noticed. There are a couple of newer announcements with meatier parts in the pipeline. Stay tuned."
