From cop to a CM

Suresh Gopi is perhaps the most well known cop that Kerala Police has not had so far.
The man has khakhi attached to his skin, almost.
But for Anil C Menon's Rashtram, he is going one step higher.
He is playing a politico, and yes, a Chief Minister.
Laya is the heroine and a plays a medical student.
Suresh Gopi is Maliackal Thommi, who becomes the chief minister, quite unexpectedly. He is a timber merchant who ends up at the top post due to convoluted politics of the State
But Anil says the film is a family entertainer and not a political film.
Suresh Gopi has a film with Jeyaraj. His Lanka with A.K. Sajan is all set to roll soon and Shaji Kailas The Tiger will hit the theatres soon.
Rashtram is slated for January release.
